NSpine was a start-up founded by an orthopedic surgeon and a guest scholar at Stanford University. Their goal was to create an implant that would stabilize the spine after a decompression but, unlike traditional fusion devices, preserve motion. I joined as employee #1 to build and lead the engineering team. We had an incredible team that endured and overcame many challenges. NSpine was acquired by Synthes (the 2nd largest orthopedics company in the world at the time) in 2007.
